All green, no mean!

Bye bye June, hello July. This month we’ve got some news, news so BIG we have to capitalise it! But what could deserve such irresponsible capitalisation and reckless use of an exclamation mark I hear you ask? Well brace yourself ‘cause today we’re going to tell you about our greenest bottle ever!

100% recycled and 100% recyclable*

As you probably know by now there are only a few things we love more than recycling (one of them is Dame Shirley Bassey). So, we’ve decided to pour all that love and passion into one bottle, made completely from recycled plastic (rPET)! You may have heard us bang on (just a little!) about our whole range being made from 51% rPET already, which we’re so proud of. Well this time, get ready because we are going to scream and shout about our 100% rPET range.

The new kid on the block is lean, mean and very green. So green in fact that it’s made entirely from other bottles meaning it’s already had one happy life but together, we’re going to give it a lot more, a bit like a cat.

With 100% rPET we remove the need to introduce new, virgin plastic into our lovely world. Yes, Mother Nature, we’ve got your back. As we’re already removing 500 tonnes of virgin plastic from our process every year, our 100% rPET range will just make it better allowing us to take this even further. We know, exciting right?! To put that into perspective, we’ve used cutting edge science to crunch the numbers and give you examples of how heavy 500 tonnes of plastic really is:

  • About 70 times as heavy as a Tyrannosaurus rex.

  • About 200 times as heavy as a Rhinoceros.

  • About 2,000 times as heavy as a Pig.

  • About 750,000,000,000 times as heavy as a Grain of Sugar.

That’s a lot of virgin plastic saved!

Our greenest bottle ever

We know there’s nothing more satisfying than getting that across the room recycling bin throw, so of course, our 100% rPET bottle is 100% recyclable. This now means that you are 100% more likely to hit that three-pointer from the other side of your office and that’s a guarantee! (Princes Gate Mineral Water cannot legally guarantee any successful three-point shots and cannot be blamed for any failures).

You’re probably thinking to yourself: “Wow what a great eco-friendly product that puts the environment first without sacrificing on customer quality, but how will I know which bottle it is on the shelf?” Well don’t worry Mrs Jones because we’ve even thought of that too. Remember when we said it was green? Well, that wasn’t just a metaphor because this bottle is draped in the finest green recyclable label this side of Wales. We felt that although the 100% rPET bottle is very much part of the team it needed to stand out from the crowd. It wants all the attention it can get so this cheeky minx wants to catch your eye. To do that we made sure you could spot that little green bottle with the beautiful green hills of Wales on it the second you walk into your favourite shop.

So, you can see why we are pretty proud of the newest addition to our little sustainable family. He’s 100% rPET, is well dressed and kind to the environment however we still need your help. Our bottles are like our children we want to see them go off to do great things, find someone that loves them, and does right by them so they can go on to achieve their dreams. With your help, our bottle can achieve its dreams by being given another life after use, who knows they could come back as Gareth Bale’s next shirt! This is only the start but thanks to you lovely lot with this bottle we can foster a closed-loop mentality where recycling is king and virgin plastics are a thing of the past.

The next time you’re thirsty and feel like picking up a bottle of Princes Gate Mineral Water remember this blog and keep an eye out for our greenest bottle ever. You’ll know that you're picking up a bottle that’s lived many lives before and if recycled can go on to live many lives after, so for mother Earth crush it, cap it and recycle it. Be a hero.

*We can’t always guarantee that the cap and label is made from 100% recycled material. We can guarantee though, that they are always 100% recyclable.
