Princes Gate does IRONMAN (take two!)
How has it been 2 years already since we last wrote our blog about IRONMAN? And in that time we have lived through a global pandemic, so an IRONMAN should be easy right?!

2022, many years on from the start of our partnership with IRONMAN UK; we are delighted to say that this partnership continues, making us the Official Water Supplier to all IRONMAN UK events.
This year though, we are making it bigger and better than ever before. Drum roll please...
Obviously, as IRONMAN have realised that Wales is the best place ever,* they are putting on an extra event in Swansea! Yes, SWANSEAAA (repeat in your best Welsh accent). (*Source: Our opinion)
This iconic, new event is a sell-out already and we are delighted to be supporting IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea, which will take in 70.3 miles of swim, bike and run of breath-taking views of the Gower.
So with the announcement of a new event and after two years of postponements, we thought it was only right to make this year extra special. Behind the scenes, we have been working hard to line up some exciting new developments for this year's events.
How will 2022 be different?
Together with IRONMAN we are introducing a ‘closed loop’ supply for both IRONMAN Wales and IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea. This is so important to us because as much as we love seeing you enjoy our lovely mineral water, we adore recycling just as much. So please help us keep Wales clean and free of litter. As Wales is special for a reason.
Now, the suspense will have to remain for a little while longer, as we can’t reveal to you our entire plans just yet, but what we can tell you is that at IRONMAN Wales & IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea we will be providing you with our 100% recycled* and recyclable bottles (*our bottles are made 100% from recycled plastic, excluding cap and label). Yes, that’s right, a Princes Gate bottle made entirely from other bottles. This means we can keep our super-human competitors hydrated, whilst ensuring we reduce the use of virgin plastic.
What is closed loop we hear you ask?
In a nutshell, this is where a product is used, recycled and then made into a new product. So, you may well just see this years bottles re-appear as something new next year! (Wink Wink)
Now, we know there are A LOT of avid IRONMAN fans out there, dreaming of the chance to swim, bike and run for fun, as we have twelve members of our very own Princes Gate Team that can’t wait to face the dragon this year at the iconic IRONMAN Wales.
If this is you, you might just want to be keeping a close eye on our social media channels over the next couple of weeks as we post more developments of our IRONMAN UK partnership. As you never know, you may just be lining up on that start line after all, singing ‘Gwlad, Gwlad’ at the top of your lungs and getting the chance to hear those four, spine-tingling words - ‘YOU ARE AN IRONMAN’.
And we don’t stop there. Just to add to the buzz around this year’s IRONMAN UK events, we are giving you the chance to meet our very own, IRONMAN team (albeit virtually) to find out what motivates them to get out of bed and train whilst most of us are still sleeping. We can’t wait to find out more about the day in the life of an IRONMAN - who are heroes in our eyes.
What makes these heroes even more super; is that whilst they train, they are also raising money for our amazing charity partner YoungMinds.
